PBSI Ltd was formed in 1987 to acquire the
businesses of P&B Engineering Company Limited and W.M. Shakeshaft
Limited. The former was incorporated in 1932, the latter in 1951.
P&B Weir Electrical was acquired in 1992.
The Group now has two factory
bases at Manchester and Corsham. The Head office and administration
is at Manchester.
The main activities are
the design and manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment,
used mainly within the industrial sector.
Principal product lines
are Medium Voltage Switchgear and Retrofits, Protection Relays and
Controllers, Portable Earthing Equipment, Buchholz Relays, Maximum
Demand Indicators and other instruments.
Customers include Power
Stations, Regional Electrical Companies, Oil and Petrochemical Complexes,
Offshore Oil & Gas Platforms and Terminals, Wind Generation
and co-generation schemes, Railway Maintenance, Water Industry,
Shipping and Support Vessels and Cement Plants.
Our services include
Test and Commissioning of Switchgear, Grading Studies and Protection
Training Seminars.
